Nationally Recognized Equestrian Event Returns to Fairgrounds Showplex

In 2011 the Western New York Morgan Horse Show, an event sponsored by the New York State Morgan Horse Society, was honored with the Favorite United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Competition award.  USEF is the national governing body of equestrian sport and this prestigious award is voted on by USEF members from across the country who participate in eligible events as owners, trainers and exhibitors.

The longstanding annual competition will again return to the Fairgrounds Showplex on the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg, New York; a location which had a great influence on the voters.  Some of the comments from exhibitors included “Great venue with great quality competitors,” “the grounds are immaculate,” and “the grounds are extraordinarily clean and the horses are safe.”

Over one hundred Morgan horses from across New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Canada will converge on the fabulous facility May 25 through 27, 2012 for three days of world caliber competition in a variety of disciplines including Western, English and driving.  In addition to the Favorite Competition award, the Western New York Morgan Horse Show also has been included in the USEF Cup Competition program, recognized by the American Morgan Horse Association as a Four Star Rated Show (the highest award level) and selected by Horse Show Wire magazine to host the Best Performance of the Show award.

The event is free to watch, family friendly and open to the community.  Three sessions of competition are scheduled each day, to learn more visit www.wnymorganshow.com or contact show manager Marilyn Ackerman at 315/945-5398.
