Once again, the Food Bank of Western New York and Andy’s Weather Machine are teaming up for the Weather Machine – Food Drive Challenge.

Register your school by Friday, November 25th to be entered into the running for a visit by Andy Parker and his Weather Machine!

It’s as easy as four simple steps:

1. Register Online by clicking here.
2. Once registered, begin to publicize your food drive.  Organize a collection area, make signs, mention the drive during morning announcements, send home letters to parents, and keep us updated on your progress.
3. Bring all collected food items to the Food Bank of WNY on Friday, December 2nd.
4. Watch Daybreak on Friday, December 9th to see if you are our Food Drive Challenge winner!

Applications now available for local nonprofits; Recipients to be announced at Buffalo Auto Show in February

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Ford Dealers of Western New York just couldn’t wait to announce that applications are now available for the 2012 Ford Friendship Express program -- an annual program that provides “new wheels” to local nonprofit organizations in need of transportation.

“For nearly two decades, the WNY Ford Dealers have awarded new Ford vehicles to deserving organizations in our community,” said Scott Bieler, chairman, Ford Friendship Express selection committee.

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Miss Buffalo Scholarship Organization is currently seeking contestants for its pageant at the National Buffalo Wing Festival on Sept. 4 from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Aside from reigning as the official "Queen" of the Wing Fest, Miss Buffalo 2012 goes on to represent the Queen City in the 2012 Miss New York State Scholarship Pageant, the official state preliminary to the Miss America Pageant.  Miss Buffalo is eligible to win an expenses paid trip in June 2012 to take part in the Miss New York State Pageant, including five night’s hotel stay, meals, travel and entry fees.  In addition, Miss Buffalo will receive a $250 scholarship, a crown, banner and trophy.  The first runner-up will receive a $150 scholarship and the second runner-up will receive a $100 scholarship.
