NOCO Express & Nickel City Roast Coffee partner with Food Bank of WNY

Throughout November and December, NOCO Express Stores will donate ten cents from every cup of Nickel City Roast Coffee sold in-store to the Food Bank of Western New York.

“If each customer were to purchase one cup of coffee each day through the end of the year, they would be providing 34 meals to those in need right here in Western New York,” said Terry Messmer, director of merchandising, NOCO Express. “We are proud to partner with the Food Bank of Western New York this holiday season to support such a deserving cause.”

The Food Bank of Western New York collects and distributes food to its 400 member agencies in Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties, distributing one million pounds of food per month, assisting 100,000 people in need.

How to Make Your Car Last Forever: Auto Q&A with Tom Torbjornsen

Dear Tom,

I own a 2006 F250 4x4 Ex Cab with a 6.0 L Diesel. What are your thoughts on the chip tuners such as Bully Dog and Super Chips? Are they worth the investment?

Local Powerlifter is Training Other Athletes to Win

In his early teens, Steve Helmicki considered himself a bit of an undersized football player, which led him to begin training in his parents’ attic with a DP vinyl and sand weight set and a Bill Grant fitness manual. While countless other young athletes might have a similar story to tell, very few — if any — have ever taken it quite as far as Helmicki.

Dear Tom,

I own a 2000 Chevy Venture van with 54,000 miles. The transmission fluid has been changed twice and the coolant was changed about one year ago. Should I get the spark plugs changed before they get stuck in the head? The dealer wants to just clean them and not replace them. Thank you.

Rep. Higgins & Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation Announce $5 Million for Buffalo Harbor

Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-27) Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation (ECHDC) Chairman Jordan Levy announced the release of $5 million, secured through the New York Power Authority relicensing settlement agreement, toward a project to build the Buffalo Harbor Bridge

“For decades limited and disjointed access has kept people, business and opportunity away from the Outer Harbor,” said Congressman Brian Higgins.  “By providing a link between the City’s downtown core and our waterfront we are actually building a bridge to limitless opportunities to draw economic development, jobs, residential living, recreation and tourism into the region.”

Dear Tom,

I own a ’98 Dodge Neon with 97,000 miles. A few days ago while driving, I noticed that the battery light was on and all the gauges were going crazy (up and down). This happens only when the vehicle is in motion. I tested the battery and it’s good. What’s causing the problem?
